How Airtable is used in the real estate industry

Preface

I also wrote the no-code series as Glide, zapier.

This time, we will take up the title Airtable as a database.

1.What is Airtable

Let me quote

"Free, no-code, browser-only Airtable is a tool that "people who are good at Excel" want to use next."

Airtable is a web application that is like a combination of Excel and MySQL (database).
The operator is Airtable, which is the same as the service name, and was founded in Silicon Valley in 2012.Founder Howie Liu founded Etacts, a CRM developer, after graduating from college in 2010, which he sold to Salesforce in 2011.
As of 2018, Airtable was valued at over $10 billion, and is said to have raised $2020 million in new funding in 5,000, bringing its valuation to $30-40 billion.
It's been nearly 10 years since Airtable itself was released, so it's not a very new tool, but the UI doesn't feel old, and the valuation continues to grow, so it's been around for a long time. It seems that it has been steadily updated in the meantime and has earned a good reputation in the market.

Free, no-code, and browser-only Airtable is a tool that "people who are good at Excel" want to use next

Like other no-code tools, it means that it is available for free within a certain range.

It will be a spreadsheet with vertical and horizontal grids similar to Excel. It is said that it has a function that combines access as a database and Excel for spreadsheet calculations.

Here is the Airtable portal scene.Since it was born in Silicon Valley, it is still in English.

2.Message

↑ Here is the scene where you signed in and entered from the previous screen. On the far left is the logo mark and trademark. The right side is called Bases. This means how to count, and if it is Excel, it is a unit of one file.

There is also Templates on the right side. This also appears in other no-code tools, but it seems that they have already prepared a model for some affiliated data or display formats. This kind of mindfulness is no code.See more on the Marketplace next.

Analyze, enrich, and act on your data with Airtable Apps. 』

The display of this area is not much different from other no-code tools such as Glide and bubble, so this area may be unwritten as no-code.

Well, it depends on how the base is made.

The left side of the three patterns above is the so-called "from scratch" method that is created from scratch.

Next, "Get started quickly" in the middle is the purpose of importing from other apps. There are CSV, Excel, and Google Sheets in order from the top, and it is possible to import to Airtable from these. It means that you are a spread companion.

Templates are lined up on the far right "Start with templates".

3.Various views

From within the template, open the Product roadmap.

This is the Grid view inside it.It's most tabular.

This is a display format called kanban. I'm surprised that Kanban is in English.

Trello (https://trello.com/ja) sounds like it.

One-touch calendar display (based on the kickoff date of each task)

The Gantt chart can also be seen in one shot.

Creating this in Excel would be very difficult.

Afterword

In this way, I have shown you the function or the display format in a hurry.

So, I thought about how I could use it in the real estate industry.

・By looking at the Gantt chart, it is easy to visually understand the start and end period, so it may be useful for tenant management if information is provided for each lessee. If you group by building name, you can also group rent rolls. Also, it's easy to visualize rental trek records for the past few years.

・Similarly, I think it is easy to manage the progress of a project using a Gantt chart. It seems that the members who convene for each project can also be changed.

・It seems that Slack will automatically fly because there is automation in the recently added function. Also, since it is a database, I think it is important to link with other apps using zapier.
